Our Solution
The Marlin Governance Business Partner (MGB) solution for centralized master data management offers a reliable and traceable data governance process in SAP®. The creation and maintenance process is efficiently implemented by an optimized application for the business partner and their assigned debtors and creditors with integrated data quality tools. The process takes place in a dedicated staging area until it is released. The roles of initiator, maintainer, informant, and releaser are available to the user.
The process is started by the initiator or by an interface, e.g. via a CRM system or portal. Users are informed by e-mail and process the data from a worklist. The release causes the new entry or change to be posted in the SAP tables. The solution can be used in an SAP system, as a standalone solution, or across multiple SAP or non-SAP systems. Custom workflows are also available in the data governance process.
Preassignment and Rules
Optimize each step of the process with individually definable defaults and rules. Thanks to our user-friendly customizing function, you can make these settings without any programming knowledge. For more complex requirements, you can use BRF+ or specific customer programs. Using the defined rules, you can easily integrate additional test steps, such as for changes to the IBAN. This way, you ensure an efficient process design that meets your specific needs.
Various international checks are integrated into the process to improve data quality. These can be started automatically when a field is changed, when saving, or manually.

Analytical Data Review
You can use the stored business rules to check master data in flexible and manual reports. To do this, you can check the master data with defined rules. If a record violates one or more of the rules, the violation is logged and can be evaluated later.
Processing of Rule Violations
After checking data sets, the software creates requirement documents for the governance processes in the event of rule violations. The Data Steward receives the rule violations in his worklist and processes them transparently in his day-to-day business.
Proactive Rule Support
In addition to flexible use for checking the database, the business rules can be integrated into the governance processes as validation rules. This ensures that the rules are not only checked in the batch process, but also in day-to-day maintenance. Seamless integration with appropriate warnings in the governance process allows the user to react directly to incorrect entries. This avoids time-consuming follow-up research for incorrect or missing information.
